Do you ever feel like you're stuck in place? You put everything into life, and yet you don't move forward. It's like something is pulling you back -- anxiety, fatigue, inner chaos. Maybe it's not you who's holding you back. You may be influenced by three invisible saboteurs who are destroying your thinking, joy, and relationship with God. This article will open your eyes, offer a lifeline and point the way back to hope. It's not about being perfect. It's about letting yourself be saved.
Do you ever feel like you're in the dark? Not literally -- but inside. You have people around you, responsibilities, social networks full of smiles and “good vibes only”, but still something is grinding inside you. You're paddling through life. You keep going. But you feel like the boat of your life isn't moving an inch. And when you think you have a calm surface, the next wave will come.
Maybe you've never seen anything spiritual in it. You may have said, “That's life. I just have to survive it.” But what if there's something behind it after all?
There is a similar story in the Bible. Jesus sends his closest friends across the lake. They are supposed to cross the Sea of Galilee at night. Without him. As always, there will be a storm. The wind starts blowing, it throws the boat from side to side, and under them there is only a dark depth. And darkness all around. And the wind. And fear. And most importantly -- the complete feeling that they are alone in this.
Do you ever get that feeling too? That all that surrounds you is one big darkness? That you're trying to keep going, but it's only ruining you more?
Sometimes our three invisible saboteurs are to blame.
Who's actually whispering in your ear?
- The devil -- yeah, maybe it sounds like a fairy tale. But it's not a pitchfork devil. It's that voice in your head that tells you, “You suck.” “Nobody likes you.” “God wouldn't care about you anyway.” This voice whispers gently. Slowly and relentlessly. Diabolos is the Greek word for slander and bouncer. He whispers to us about us and the world around us and the God of slander to scatter us. And we are slowly beginning to trust him.
- The body — physical desires, instant dopamine. The need for recognition, comfort, control. That's not bad in and of itself. But when they become our compass, we lose direction. And suddenly you're not looking for the truth -- you're just looking for what makes you feel good.
- It's the world — the culture that surrounds you, influencers, advertisements, music. Everything tells us, “Be happy,” but no one tells you what to do when “happy” doesn't work. When all that remains is empty.
This false threesome is sabotaging our guts. And it looks like we're alone in this. But we're not.
God comes differently than you expect
Let's go back to the lake. The disciples are terrified. And suddenly -- he sees a figure in the distance in the dark. Someone is walking on water. And what are they going to do? They start screaming. “What a ghost! “
Yes, even when help comes, we often do not recognize it. Because we expect God to be different. Stricter, distant. But he just quietly says, “Don't worry. That's me. “
And that's when Peter, one of the disciples, decides to do something crazy. He will say, “Lord, if it is you, tell me to come to you by water.” And Jesus will say only, “Come. “
Peter enters the water. And he really goes. After the waves, after the fear, after the chaos. As long as he looks at Jesus, he sticks. But when he looks at the waves -- he starts to drown.
Do you know that? When you focus on fear, everything goes down. But if you look up — you can walk where it used to drag you below the surface.
When you're drowning...
Peter drowns and does not shout: “Show me the technique! “They shout, “Lord, save me! “And Jesus? He gets caught immediately.
This is the key. Not that you can find your way to God. But that He will find a way to you. Even if you fall. Even if you failed. Even if you're at the bottom.
Faith is not about making it. Faith is about someone catching you when you can't anymore.
And what does SafePoint have to do with it?
You might be asking, “Okay, but what about me? I don't go to church. I don't know if I even believe.” That's why SafePoint exists. A place where you don't have to have all the answers right now. You don't have to be strong or play strongman. You don't have to know the Bible perfectly. All you have to do is come.
SafePoint is a space where young people seek the truth -- together. Where he is not afraid to talk about anxieties, about pain, about not believing or not knowing. Where no one laughs at your questions. Where you can be real. And where do you recognize that God is not a concept -- but a person who keeps you even in the waves.
What if right now is the time to raise your head?
Maybe right now you're feeling overwhelmed. That you have chaos in your head. That you're drowning. But just like Peter -- you can only cry out, “God, save me! “
And he catches you.
Not because you're flawless. But because you're his. And he never lets you go down.
Do you want to try it differently? Come and see us at SafePoint. Here you can tell that faith is not about rules -- it's about a relationship.
And maybe right here you'll find something that will finally start keeping you afloat.
